HASKELL HOODIE (Mid Gray)
THE HASKELL Sweatshirt HOODIE in Mid Grey
At the turn of the 20th century, one invention changed golf forever.
In 1898, Coburn Haskell introduced a revolutionary new golf ball built around a tightly wound rubber core. Compared with the gutta-percha balls of the era, the new “Haskell” ball flew farther, carried higher and gave the average golfer distance once reserved for the game’s strongest players.
Its impact was immediate and profound. Courses that had been designed for the gutta-percha ball suddenly played shorter. Bunkers and hazards lost some of their strategic bite. Golf clubs on both sides of the Atlantic were forced to lengthen holes, add new tees and, in some cases, build entirely new courses to keep pace with the rapidly changing game.
The Haskell ball helped usher golf out of the Victorian era and into the modern age. It changed how the game was played, how courses were designed and ultimately how far golf could go.
The Haskell Ball Hoodie celebrates the little rubber-cored ball that changed the game forever.
